Resources for Parents and Educators

Parents

We provide one-on-one executive function coaching for students in grades 2-12. To keep parents fully in the loop with the work we’re doing, we’ve created a password protected portal, EMChat™, which facilitates ongoing communication between instructors and parents. And we offer a variety of workshops to educate parents on the importance of executive function skills in their children's success.

Education Professionals

Engaging Minds offers a variety of professional development workshops for educators. As a certified PDP provider with the state of Massachusetts, Engaging Minds has extensive experience training and educating participants in all facets executive function. All offerings are run in a workshop-style format, engaging participants in case studies and interactive exercises throughout.

Tip of the Week

November 5, 2018

Unplug Earlier and Sleep Will Follow

According to data from the Centers for Disease Control, 41 million Americans get less than six hours of sleep per night. Many teens get even less. The research is clear: sleep is critical to your child’s physical and emotional well being and, in turn, her success in school. One way you can help your child get more sleep: require her to unplug from technology earlier in the evening. The artificial light that smartphones, tablets, and computers emit stimulates more cortisol (the hormone that tells the brain to be alert and productive) than the sun itself! By eliminating technology toward bedtime, you will remove a major distraction from the sleep equation while also making it easier for your child to fall asleep.
