A Proactive Approach to Parent/Teacher Conferences

Head into your parent/teacher conference with a purpose. Yes, conferences are a great way to get to know your child’s teacher, understand teacher expectations, and learn more about how your child is doing thus far in school. You can also use your upcoming parent/teacher conference proactively to build a bridge between school and home with your child’s teacher. Find out where the teacher sees your child’s strengths and weaknesses at this point in the year, and ask for specific ways you (or your child’s tutor) can best support your child outside of school hours. The teacher will undoubtedly appreciate your partnership, and you will gain valuable insight to help your child thrive at school.
