How to use everyday activities to strengthen EF skills

Use everyday activities to enhance your child’s learning and strengthen his executive function skills. Cooking and baking are wonderful, real-world ways of helping your child improve his math skills. And the entire process of cooking or baking―from choosing what to make, to finding the ingredients in the grocery store or in your pantry, to planning out how long the entire process will take, and then following the directions of the recipe―provides a real-life opportunity for your child to engage and improve his executive functions. And best of all, you get to check your work by eating the “fruits of your labor” when you’re done!
