Practice Wearing Masks

Late last week, the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released its initial back-to-school guidelines for the fall. It appears that one of the keys to getting students back into the classroom in September is the required wearing of masks for all students and teachers. Will it be different, uncomfortable, and/or a minor inconvenience for students? Yes, of course. But if we want our children back in school, masks are a key part of the deal. Advice: practice wearing masks this summer so your child is not experiencing it for the first time come September. Like any new habit, getting comfortable in a mask will take practice.
