Reading Can Be Fun!

Is your child a “reluctant” reader? Let’s turn that around this summer! Summer is a great time to engage your child with reading that captivates, inspires, and excites her.

Three tips:

  1. Let your child choose the book so she feels empowered and in control of the decision making. (In school she’s not usually given a choice.)
  2. The book should be at her level (not the least bit overwhelming!). Four steps to finding a “just right” book.
  3. Make reading special. Create a family reading hour where everyone is reading (not on a phone!) and do it in a fun spot (back deck, at the park) with a cool drink and a snack.
