Using an Online Homework Portal More Effectively

Many schools have transitioned to online platforms to help students keep track of their daily homework and long-term assignments. For students who struggle with executive function, this technology is an important and helpful resource. 

One downside of the online platform is that students are not learning how to track, organize, and manage their homework by themselves (it’s all corralled for them). To mitigate that downside, teach your student how to use the homework platform to create a nightly agenda and a separate calendar to track long-term assignments. So while the student isn’t writing down his assignments on his own, he is still learning how to plan, prioritize, estimate time on task, and manage his assignments in a thoughtful way.
