Winter is Coming™

“Winter is coming” is the most iconic phrase from HBO’s Game of Thrones which aired its final episode last night. The meaning behind the phrase is mildly ominous: it’s a warning to be prepared and remain vigilant because “winter” will come eventually. Today’s tip is about doing the work necessary to ensure one’s success in the longer-term. For students this means practicing skills this summer that will set them up for success in the fall. Research has shown that a few hours per week of reading, writing and math will put your child at an advantage in September. September is coming so let’s make sure our students are prepared to return to school successfully.
